Healing from the losses due to COVID-19 doesn’t merely mean to “accept” everything that has changed, but it also means reflecting on what has changed and how you can address the change in a healthy way. You should name your struggles because it can bring clarity to why you’re feeling so stressed. Identify five things you have found hard and order them from least to most difficult. Then, choose one issue to tackle first, and break it into smaller pieces so it’s easier to work on. You should take things one day at a time. It can be overwhelming to think about the change and loss the pandemic has brought and what’s to come in the future. Therefore, if we’re constantly worrying about whether things will get better, our mood, stress levels, and motivation would be negatively affected. Consciously take things one day at a time can help downplay the big problem we may be facing into many smaller problems, and smaller problems are more manageable than a giant problem.
